Independent hospice directory and guide. We are not a hospice provider.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These Listing Terms apply to any hospice, or person acting for a hospice (“you”), that claims a listing, buys a plan, publishes a sponsored article or uses other paid services on Top Hospice Care (“we,” “us”). They add to our terms of use.

1. Who can claim a listing

You must be the owner, an officer or an authorized employee of the hospice, and you must have authority to agree to these terms on its behalf. We may ask for proof, call the hospice’s main number on file, and refuse or reverse any claim. Third-party marketers and referral agencies may not claim listings.

2. Eligibility and verification

Paid plans are available only to hospices with an active state license and current Medicare certification. Our checks are described in our verification standards. You must tell us within 5 business days if your license or certification is suspended, revoked, surrendered or placed on conditions, or if you become excluded from a federal health care program.

3. Plans, billing and automatic renewal

  • Paid plans are billed yearly and renew automatically each year at the price shown at checkout, charged to your card through Stripe, until you cancel.
  • We email the account holder before each renewal, at least 15 days before the renewal date, with the renewal date, the amount and how to cancel.
  • You can cancel online at any time from your account dashboard, or by emailing listings@tophospicecare.com. After you cancel, you will not be charged again, and your plan stays active until the end of the paid year. Your profile then returns to the free basic profile.
  • Fees are not refunded for the unused part of a year, except where the law requires.
  • One-time services, such as sponsored articles, are paid in advance. If we decline to publish your article, we refund the fee. Once published, the fee is not refundable.
  • We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase before it applies to your next renewal.
  • Prices do not include taxes, which are added where required.

4. Flat fees only, no referrals

All fees are flat fees for advertising and listing services. They do not depend on the number of leads, calls, referrals, admissions or patients. We do not refer patients, recommend you to families, or share family contact information with you. You agree not to describe our services as a referral service.

5. Your content

You are responsible for everything you submit, including descriptions, photos, logos, articles and contact details. You promise that your content is accurate and lawful, that you have the rights to use it, and that it does not:

  • Contain any patient’s protected health information, or patient photos or testimonials without written authorization
  • Make false, misleading or unsupported claims, including claims about outcomes, cures, quality rankings or Medicare status
  • Offer gifts, payments or incentives to patients or referral sources
  • Criticize or name other hospices

You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, format and promote your content on the Site during your listing and for a reasonable time after to remove it. We may edit or reject content that does not meet these terms or our editorial policy.

6. Public data

Information from official sources, such as CMS data, certification dates and survey results, stays on your profile and cannot be removed or edited by request. We will correct it if official records show it is wrong.

7. Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove a listing, remove a badge or end a plan, without refund, if your license or certification is not active, if you are subject to a payment suspension or exclusion, if you break these terms, or if we reasonably believe your listing could mislead families. You may close your account at any time. Your free basic profile, built from public data, may stay on the Site after you close your account.

8. No guarantees

We do not guarantee any number of visits, calls, inquiries or admissions, any search ranking, or that the Site will be available at all times. Featured placement depends on availability in each county.

9. Compliance

You are responsible for your own compliance with laws that apply to your hospice, including Medicare rules, the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, state licensing rules, and advertising and privacy laws.

10. Liability and indemnity

The disclaimers and limitation of liability in our terms of use apply to these Listing Terms. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your content, your services, or your breach of these terms or of law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version. For material changes, we will email the account holder at least 30 days before they apply. They do not change a plan you have already paid for.
